I'm using Quicktime 7.5.5 (latest version) on all my Macs, and have no problems at all with AE CS3 or CS4. I'm certainly not aware of any issues with 7.5.5
The Quicktime developer documentation refers to this as a generic permission error, so something is locking up the file while AE is writing the data to it. Do you use any system extensions or have Spotlight scan on regular intervals?
> Since Apple released QT 7.4 in January and every forum was bogged with users posting their AE error messages, I've been very weary of Quicktime vsoftware. <
I'm just weary of getting up on weekdays.
I'm not hearing anything that comes close to "bogging" down any forums about Quicktime but I understand your decision to be wary of Apple's inability to get it right the first time.
All of the Macs in our shop are required to run Software Update regularly so the jihadists can't launch malware form Safari. We all run Mac OS10.4.11 and are running QT7.5.5 with CS3
