Lately, I've seen it mentioned by Rick, Andrew, and a few others that you can create alias' of your CS3 plug-ins in your CS4's plug-ins folder. It might be risky doing so, because if you end up uninstalling CS3, you'll lose the plug-ins in CS4. Otherwise, you could always run the installer again. I'm not on a Mac right now, but you should be able to show the contents of the application folder, and find the plug-ins folder. You could also try doing a search for the names of the plug ins, and you should be shown their locations.
Boris usually supplies free or reasonable updates to their higher end products soon after major releases of new hosts. Check their Web site.
I reinstalled Boris but it only worked when I pointed it to the cs4 plugins/en_US folder when boris asks. If you just point to the plugins folder (root) then CS4 doesn't see the effects. I think you can also just drag the Boris folder from the earlier (cs3?) location to the new one as above - as long as you previously installed and licenced Boris on that machine. Of course some of the plugins may need upgrading to CS4 versions - although a few I quickly tried seemed OK
