1. Re: Looking to mark points on the timeline in real time to music
Mylenium Dec 15, 2008 10:01 AM (in response to spdorsey6969)Create a RAM preview and while it plays, hit x (multiply) on your numpad. This will add layer markers (a layer needs to be selected, I recommend a solid that you don't use otherwise). If nothing is selected, it should add comp markers, but this often does not work for some strange reason.

(Steve_Patterson) Dec 15, 2008 10:13 AM (in response to spdorsey6969)_*_ (asterisk) is the key on the numpad, which, like Mylenium had pointed out, is the multiplication math operator. -

Todd_Kopriva Dec 16, 2008 8:16 AM (in response to spdorsey6969)I recommend RAM previewing at a low resolution while doing this synchronization work, so that you are certain to be previewing at real-time speed and so that your computer has some resources left over with which to receive and deal with the command to place the markers. If your system is maxed out trying to play a high-resolution RAM preview, it might lag a little bit in placing the markers.
For information on placing markers, see the "Layer markers and composition markers" section of After Effects Help.
