I've posted a preset at the page below:
It's called "Particular Streamer". I've put an expression on the Particles Per Second to make it easy to set it to multiples of the frame rate (this keeps the particles from jittering). Just put a whole number in there, and the expression will make particular spit out that many particles per frame.
thanks Aaron..thanks for your help...although, i'm having an issues not seeing the preset in after effects - even though i have dropped the .ffx file into preset/trapcode particular ffx folder...i have restarted after effects...but no joy
I'm not sure what the problem might be. I've zipped the file and uploaded it again, in case the file is getting mangled in transit (though I have no problems downloading and applying the preset, for what it's worth).
Also, if it's just not showing up in the presets popup menu or in the Effects & Presets palette, have you tried using Animation->Apply Preset instead?
i think the problem maybe because I'm using AE 7 and the ffx is for a AECS?
Do you perhaps have this for AE 7 or maybe suggest an expression which will do the same effect?
i do see the ffx file when using Animation->Apply Preset by the way....that is when i get an error suggesting i should upgrade!
AE 7, Mac OSX 10.4.11
Oh, sorry, I missed the AE7 part. I've created the preset for AE7 and uploaded it to the same location.1 person found this helpful
Aaron....2 words "bloody legend!"that is exactly what you are...this is exactly what i was after! thanks for your help!
Hey dude, It's nine years since you shared that preset, no idea if you'll ever see this but I am trying to get the same result, and would love your preset if it's still applicable?
