I am trying to add a music track to an AE project. I have imported the .wav file I made in Soundbooth and put it on the timeline. The speaker icon on the left of the timeline panel is active. But when I preview it, the sound is not there.
This should have been very simple, as I just want the music playing in the background, it is not tied to any visual events.
I suspect I must be missing something, just embarrassingly obvious, but I just can't figure out what.

"Preview video and audio" section of After Effects Help, follow the instructions, and report back with your results. Please be detailed about exactly what you're trying so that we can help you to troubleshoot if necessary.
Todd, thank you. I did not understand the use of "ram preview." Using it allowed me to do exactly what I wanted (of course). I thought I had looked for a solution, but, I think my problem, lies in not understanding how to ask the question properly.
