One possible cause already. 2GB ain't that much for this kind of work. Anyway, are you using any glows or blurs? It's more likely that those expand the pixel buffer beyond what your system can handle...
FYI Found some problem fixes. The plug-in Cycore Spotlight did crash After Effects CS3. Deleting the OpenGL plug-in resulted in completion of renders.
Now Premiere Pro CS3 is crashing when importing the After Effects CS3 file. Message - "Application failed to return a video frame. Cancelling the operation."
Whe rendering the "System Information" dialog box shows available memory -- usually 1/2 GB. No, I'm not using glows or blurs but did use CC spotlight (Cycore) which started all my problems. Perhaps the additional ram will solve that problem so I'm looking into getting additional memory.
Yeah, I think we had a past thread that also pinned down the issues to CC Spotlight. Well, glad you could get to the bottom of the issue.
