It's common to see some artifacts when using Keylight with heavily compressed footage like HDV. It's also common to colour-correct footage after chroma-keying footage, as many keyers have a tendency to alter the source footage.
First, try using the Clip White and Clip Black settings in Keylight to suppress the artifacts.
If you still have the problem, try using Keylight on a duplicate of your footage layer, then use the keyed material as an Alpha Track Matte on the original footage.
Not being an After Fx expert, I didn't know about the track matte option, so thanks for that.
It not that great a fix because the original layer has green spill on my subject. Using just one layer and keylight, the green is removed albeit at the expense of the 'artifacts'.
Any more thoughts?
try levels and crushing the blacks a little bit
Keep the track matte, and use the Keying/Spill Suppressor plugin on the base layer.
