This is a CS3 original project.
Please explain in more detail, what you are actually doing. What timeline? Premiere? Soundbooth? AME? Premiere project inside AE? DL has been considerably beefed up for CS4 and there's just too many options. Also the usual: What footages? Resolutions? Any other DL-enbabled programs running at the same time?
Thanks for reply.
Its a 29.97, 1080 Premiere project created in CS3, brought into CS3 AE.
Basically and simply, when we try to link all the AE filters/effects we applied to in CS3, opening the timeline in CS4 we get "server busy - one direction per session", whereas we can only apply/link one and only one effect for the original CS3 timeline where we have roughly 25 effects applied, to apply another, instead of, we have to disable the active one. I can have a more detailed description if needed, will have my editor explain it better.
Mmh, that's weird. Did you try opening the project in PremierePro CS4, then using the newly saved version instead? It's possible that something odd is going on with the internal data structure due to change of procedures for multi-format handling and mixed timelines...
Hmmmm...I've been getting a similar error in AE CS4. When using the trial version I used to import Premiere sequences (just the sequence, not the whole project) into AE to render them out from there but this doesn't work any more. I get the following message:
"After Effects error: Adobe Premiere Pro dynamic link server is busy. Dynamic link is only supported in one direction per session."
I did first create a linked AE comp from Premiere & thought that this was causing the problem. I have tried deleting all linked comps/sequences, restarting my computer, ceating new projects - nothing changes it. When does this 'session' end???
Sorry, no help from me, just adding to the discussion....
the "one direction per session" would hint at the fact that you have a Ppro project Dynlinked into AE at the same time you have a AE composition Dynlinked into Ppro.
Also you cannot dynlink a PPro project into AE if this Ppro project contains AE composition Dynlinked into it.
