    speed change between CS3 and CS4?

      Hi...

      I heard that AECS4 is more speedy that CS3... like effect are in real time now...
      is it true?

            That would be nice... but no. It's not Apple Motion. You still need to build out to RAM Preview or test movies. Maybe CS5?

              I don't think it would be a favorable model. The beauty of AE is, that it just allows so many different workflows and once you commit yourself to a specific, hardware-dependent way of working, you loose that. That's the biggest failure in Motion - complex stuff is simply not possible, because the hardware acceleration eventually gives up and then, without it, it's a lot worse than AE. AE should simply render faster and more efficient, so it takes less time to build the previews and it should have smarter ways of keeping cached data (like not loosing the disk cache frames when exiting the program). Once that works, you could think of ways to adjust interactively during looping RAM previews for instance, which achieves the same goal, but with much greater flexibility...
