You updated Quicktime, didn't you? Or installed some Update or patch? A new graphics driver? Not sure, could be a number of reasons. Have you tried trashing the prefs?
thx, ill look into it:)
Anyone else got any idea?
None of that stuff worked :( what do you mean trashing the pref's?
Anyone else have any idea? i'm desperate right now!!! :(
Thx for th help,
Delete the prefs. They can be found in
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\8.0
By default the directory is invisible, so adjust your folder view options accordingly. If that doesn't help, try removing the openGL.aex plugin in your After Effects directory. It should be in:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\After Effects CS3\Support Files\Plug-ins\Extensions
THX i'll try it:)
it didn't work :( ive tried everything i can think of! what am i missing??? please help. Do you think it could be a system problem?
Sounds like your system needs a reinstallation, since these kinds of problems are very rare with AE, so something else is probably very wrong with your system.

ok thx. i ended up doing a system re-installation. it worked! i finally have AE back up and running again! YIPPEE!!!!
Well I'm having a problem with Adobe AE. When I try to load AE, when it is loading media core, an error appears "After Effects can't continue: sorry, After Effects has crashed. See http://www.adobe.com/support/products/aftereffects.html for known issues. If you still can't resolve the issue, please contact Adobe Technical Support (2). (0 :: 42) "
And then the loading of AE closes and I cant open it. Any ideas? I was thinking about afford this application...but now..
Thank you, Manuel.
Please create a new thread if you are not having the same "Visual C++" problems.
You should look at these tips first:
Are you getting these errors with the trial version from Adobe.com, or are you ("oh, the horror") using a pirated version? Remember, a pirated version could cause all kinds of problems with your system, so you're on your own then.
