Pop Up Menus BEHIND web video

    atlascott
      I have a site at: www.desalvolaw.com

I had old video up, did not like it, and shot new video.

I put the new video up on my site using Dreamweaver CS3's Flash video integration. But now, my top and left side pop up menus pop up under the video.

I think I need to make the video "transparent" or move it down a layer, if that is possible. I have the Missing Manual for Dreamweaver (I used to use Dreamweaver 2004 and was good at it but got away from web design for a number of years, and having had alot of luck with hte Missing Manual series, picked the Dreamweaver flavor up to update my knowledge for CS3) but it does not seem to address this issue.

Can anyone provide some advice or point me in the right direction? Truly appreciated.

You should give the menue a css layer with a different z-index!

            It's not a z-index issue. It's an active content issue. Z-index settings
            will not affect that.

All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and Active X controls.
This means that each of these will poke through layers. There is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can use the Flash
wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this properly!).

I just wanted to add that ALL you were very kind to so quickly respond to a problem that has been dogging me.

Murray, in particular, directed me to the EXACT solution to my problem, and it has already been fixed! Thanks again, Murray!
