      Error message:
      Encoding Failed. MediaIO2 error: 0x40050012

      Product: After Effects CS3.
      O/S: Windows XP SP2.

Well, hard to tell without further info, but if you are trying to render to MPEG-II(DVD) or some such thing, then most likely the comp sizes are incorrect. The Adobe Media Encoder strictly adheres to the specs and will only render comps that use the pre-defined resolutions (NTSC DV/ NTSC Widescrren, PAL DV, PAL Widescreen). Everything else will cause a failure. Simialrly, rendering stuff for other target outputs is bound by the same rules.
