I have a small animation to do for a logo. The animation is a simulated digital radio FM tuner display. The client wants the numbers to ratchet up from 88.1 to 103.3 and stop there.
I could do it the long, tedious way, making layer upon layer in .2 increments, or, perhaps there is a scripting method or operator that could increment numbers automatically. The tricky part is that the numbers have to go in odd increments, ie., 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, etc.
None of my books on AE seem to lend a clue as to how to do this with some degree of automation.
Can anyone point me to the set of script commands I would need to use to make this count up effect in AE CS3?
Great stuff, Aaron!
Took me a bit to understand that I needed to ditch the animated numbers text preset that I started with, but once I did that, and figured out the right number of frames, the animation worked perfectly.
This is the result:
It's an early skeleton--the site is not online yet (domain is parked)--but the dial animation looks good.
