You can check the Qmaster and xGrid forums at apple.com.
Mostly the answer is no. These are over-hyped and disastrously implemented technologies.
Seems "Nitro" is the only suitable render farm engine. Never used it, don't even know if that's what it's called.
The problem with most AE Render Farms is making sure every slave has the same exact fonts and plug-ins (and that you have licenses for all your plug-ins).
Qmaster technically can render AE projects. But it's all handled through the command line (no thanks!) And of course Xgrid has only proven useful in the biosciences.
AE should have its own proper render farm.
why installing tons of 3rd party stuff. not necessary in my opinion.
i believe that this should be possible in the next release. just a thought.
I want to maximize the use of the render farm and not just limit it to AE, I want to be able to render in multiple creative applications. Deadline looks good except as of today its Windows/Linux only: http://www.franticfilms.com/software/products/deadline/feature_set/
I want to throw in Final Cut Studio into the Mix along with Modo, Houdini, C4D and other applications, but strictly on Mac OS X.
I'm with you Juan. A cross-platform modern GUI render farm manager for AE is way overdue. I think we've been waiting for that since AE 2.0 in 1994!
