Sounds like you have the "Replace Method" pull down menu (in the Screen Matte section) set to soft or hard colour .... try using Replace Method > Source instead, you will probably have to colour grade the green or blue spill away though after this .....

AE CC2014.2's new Advanced Spill Suppressor is amazing. Trying applying it after Keylight.
I have found that some types of footage require a tremendous amount of tweaking to pull a decent key with either Ketlight or Pratte. I think it's because of the compression. In many cases converting compressed footage to an image sequence at a higher bid depth made the problems almost disappear instantaneously.
