    Which graphics card to use?

So there is a list of graphics cards to choose from , the question is, which one will give you the best performance for the money, and at what point is it overkill? Is there a place to view which graphics card will accelerate a particular function in AE? or a benchmark test on them?

OpenGL performance in AE is very over-rated (or at least, worried about).

Recently, some users have experienced problems with nvidia 8800 cards. Beyond that, most mid-range contemporary display cards can manage everything AE is capable of. Even then, use of OpenGL can sometimes slow workflow rather than speed it up. I often find myself turning off OpenGL acceleration for effects-heavy work.

If AE is your only concern, focus your expenditure on RAM and CPU speed.
