Are you using any third party plugins? They must be Universal Binary to work in both Intel and Power PC machines.
Have you got access to another Intel machine to test the file you're using?
and, thanks, btw. :)
I'm actually not using any third party plugins. And, sadly, do not have access to another intel mac. :( very odd problem. I got my laptop back last night and again was able to open the project on my lappy, but this is the second lappy that died within a year, so I'm hoping to transition back onto my much more reliable tower. So I would relaly like to figure out the problem!
Ouch! That's unusually poor MBPro reliability. Hope you have Applecare!
Strange that it doesn't work between machines - it's supposed to.
yes, I agree. With both your points. I made quite a stink with Apple and they fixed it within 24 hours, and saved the hard drive, so I am quite grateful.
Regarding the project, there must be something odd about my G5. At first I though, hey! I didn't do the AE update! That's the problem! Did the update, but the problem persists. :( Are there any other setting...
hmmm... maybe quicktime isn't updated...? Could that be it?
It's worth a try. I'd run all available system updates if you can.
What OS version are you running on the G5?
There are a bunch of tips here:
that you could try first, like holding down Shift when opening the project, or importing the project into a blank project.
