1. Re: Size of files on disk
Joe Bowden Nov 9, 2008 3:53 PM (in response to Soula-55)Different bit rates.
Higher bit rates will take up more disc space, and multipass bit rates can sometimes produce better quality using lower overall bit rates. -
2. Re: Size of files on disk
Soula-55 Nov 9, 2008 4:12 PM (in response to Soula-55)...but there is such a great discrepancy between Premiere CS3 and Premiere Elements, the output is almost double the size....
why are the bit rates between those two so different? -
3. Re: Size of files on disk
Joe Bowden Nov 9, 2008 4:19 PM (in response to Soula-55)Why? Well, I can only guess. Perhaps Premiere Elements doesn't offer Dolby Digital encoding, so the audio is uncompressed. That could take up a lot of disc space in 41 minutes.
But also, Encore and Premiere Pro offer multiple bit rates to choose from - and you can create your own presets.
I don't know if Premiere Elements offers the same flexibility with transcoding presets. -
4. Re: Size of files on disk
Soula-55 Nov 9, 2008 4:27 PM (in response to Soula-55)No it does not, it is a very simple software, nowhere near Encore and Premiere CS3.....
Looking at the bright side though, by using these software I should be able to have more footage in a DVD!!!
