    Menu Ghosted Question

    Mediadude8 Community Member
As I've stated in the naming issue thread, I use 2 main menus, one for the first play which is an AE Comp and then a 2nd menu for viewer to come back to after viewing videos, menus, etc... when I drag the whip from my still main menu, to another menu, that menu appears to the right of the still menu, but ghosted. It's like it's duplicating the "target menu" page and making the 2nd one ghosted. Is this normal behavior? Hope I'm explaining this correctly.

for every instance that I pick whip from main menu button on my 103 menus, it makes a ghosted version of the still menu.

I assume you're working in the Flowchart panel?

The "ghosted" version is an alias. There's some info in the help files, but in a nutshell: only the first instance of a project element in the flowchart is displayed at full opacity. All other references to it are aliases.

Thanks Jeff, I realized that as I was working..but it was too late to edit the post. I actually read every page of the manual, but not with the program in front of me. Thanks again.

You're welcome, but...I can't believe you read through the manual and didn't have everything memorized! Any author worth his salt could do that! (just kidding)

I've found that the new Adobe Help Center is much better than the old html-based help that earlier versions of Adobe programs had. It's been a very good reference so far.

Funny Jeff. I did skim over sections that I thought I could just reference later. I agree about the new help. Had a scare last night with Encore, went to change text on a button and it crashed the program, said out of memory, then I couldn't open the project. I had to go into the source folder and remove the corrupted file, I used brige to view it. Hopefully this will help someone else if the need arises. Thanks.
