1. Re: Animated Button Oddity...
Neil Wilkes Mar 6, 2006 4:41 AM (in response to Mediadude8)On an interlaced system such as a CRT type TV, a single pixel line should be avoided, as the display type will display half the image (a single field) at once.
Can you not use a 4 pixel line? This will avoid the flickering.
Sorry about this, but with interlaced playback, single pixel lines just won't work.
You can always try using the Photoshop Deflickerator action, but with a single pixel line it will probably not help too much. -

Mediadude8 Mar 6, 2006 6:43 AM (in response to Mediadude8)Hi Neil...sorry I didn't get the point across. I'm using a 3 or 4 pixel stroke around the animated thumbnail, it looks great on a ntsc preview monitor, once rendered, it produces it's own one pixel line right above the bottom piece of the stroke...where the stroke meets the animated image. I could try going to 4 or 5, but I think something inherent is going on. Thanks. -

Joe Bowden Mar 6, 2006 7:39 AM (in response to Mediadude8)Try shifting the thumbnail layer up 1 pixel. -
4. Re: Animated Button Oddity...
Mediadude8 Mar 6, 2006 7:42 AM (in response to Mediadude8)I actually thought of doing that. Do you mean just % layer or the entire button? Thanks Joe -

Joe Bowden Mar 6, 2006 8:35 AM (in response to Mediadude8)Just the % layer, not the button itself. -
6. Re: Animated Button Oddity...
Mediadude8 Mar 6, 2006 5:11 PM (in response to Mediadude8)Joe, since the stroke is part of the %, they move together, I tried moving the entire button up, but it has no effect. It really looks awful and ruins the otherwise beautiful DVD. Is there a way to upload a jpeg screen capture? Thanks.
PS: I also have those same buttons that I use on still pictures and these don't display the same issue, so the issue is the rendering of the motion menu. I captured before and after renders...just let me know where to send them. -
7. Re: Animated Button Oddity...
Mediadude8 Mar 7, 2006 9:50 PM (in response to Mediadude8)Solution: I imported the button again from the libary and it was fine. Perhaps I change the ratio of the button while resizing.
