    strange projector behavior

    Level 7
I have a cross platform project and I get the "this program requires
Shockwave, etc., etc." But it only happens on the mac and only on certain
      machines/os's.

I've seen this on the PC when the hard drive has very little space on it.
But that is not the case here. Any clues?

      Craig

By the way, this is the error message.

"This application requires Shockwave Player 11 which cannot be found..."

I found a couple of entries on-line that ask the same question but none has
an answer. I don't get this error from the disk image I use to create the
          CD.

            Hi,
that sounds like a permission problem...

Anything different in the permissions for the CD and the image?
Is that an OS setting maybe?

Unfortunately, I've heard of the permissions thing but don't know much about
the Mac (even though I have one) and don't really know where to start with
              this avenue.

Apple key+shift+u to get to the Utilities folder. Find "Disk Utility" and
get it to repair permissions on the appropriate disk.

                There /always/ seem to be permissions errors on Shockwave-related folders;
whether or not it will solve your problem is a different matter...

...you think that this would cause a project to work from a CD in Leopard
but not previous versions of OSX? And that on that same machine with
pre-Leopard OSX's it would work from the disk image that created the CD that
                  doesn't work?

If so, I'll try the permission thing.

                    I have some new information.

We are using the latest version of Toast on the Mac to create a hybrid CD.
It seems that the culprit lies here. Any format other than Hybrid produces
a version that works on all OSX Macs. But as soon as we use the hybrid
format with a partition on the Mac for the Mac files and a folder with the
PC projector, Xtras and aliases to the Mac partition for the other files, we
get the Shockwave error previously mentioned.

I guess there aren't too many hybrid CDs made anymore if no one has seen
this. I've called Adobe support and they were going to look into it then
call me back at 2pm EST on Friday. Of course I sat by my phone for 30
                    minutes and no call came...suprise.
