1. Re: Problems installing trial
(Matt_Talistu) Oct 22, 2007 11:25 AM (in response to RoboWizard)Could you give us the specific error message you get when the app refuses to work?
Just to be clear, you were able to successfully select "Run as trial" when the app first launched and asked you for a serial number, but it quit shortly after? -

RoboWizard Oct 22, 2007 2:37 PM (in response to RoboWizard)Hi Matt
No, it has never worked. Upon installing, I elected to select the option to try it for 30 days. It attempts, but encounters something that kicks me back to the screen where I made the choice. But the choice at that point is only to enter a valid serial number.
I saw the same thing with the Captivate trial and never did manage to make the trial work on my PC. Ended up having to plug in a serial number to continue.
Thanks... Rick :) -

(Matt_Talistu) Oct 22, 2007 3:32 PM (in response to RoboWizard)Hmm, it sounds like an issue with the licensing/activation tech, especially if you had the same issue with the Captivate trial.
I assume you downloaded the trial from the Adobe website?
I can't personally offer any further help since that's a little out of my area of expertise, but I'll see if I can ask around and get an answer/workaround for you. -
4. Re: Problems installing trial
(Malcolm_Wales) Nov 8, 2007 2:51 PM (in response to RoboWizard)Hi all,
I'm experiencing the same problem with the trial version of Captivate 3 - i install it and run it for the first time, and when i select the trial option, the following error comes up -
"A problem was encountered while trying to load the trial period for Adobe Captivate 3.
Click Quit to see if restarting your computer or re-installing the software fixes the problem. Otherwise, click Continue to display a screen where you can enter a valid serial number to begin using the product without trial."
On clicking continue, it throws me back to the previous screen, greying out the trial version option.
I reinstalled and restarted, and the problem persists. Any ideas? -

RoboWizard Nov 8, 2007 3:01 PM (in response to RoboWizard)Hi Malcolm
You should probably post this in the Captivate user forums. They are located at
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm?forumid=67
You may also wish to contact Support.

(fidelis_Semper) Dec 31, 2007 9:56 AM (in response to RoboWizard)Hello All,
Any update on this issue? I'm getting the same error message.
I want to try but when I choose the 30 day trial, I get a "Product Trial Error"
Does anybody know if Adobe has temprary Serial numbers? -
8. Re: Problems installing trial
RoboWizard Dec 31, 2007 1:36 PM (in response to RoboWizard)Hi there
Personally, I never was able to resolve it and had to acquire the full version. Fortunately, the full version worked fine. The software is neat.
I don't believe Adobe has any "temporary" serial numbers. Once you enter a valid serial number, it's good to go from here forward.
Sincerely... Rick :) -

(John_Mitchinson) Jan 16, 2008 10:37 PM (in response to RoboWizard)Gonzalo I too had Visual communicator pro 2 and Vista.
Adobe will not provide a license to work with Vista.
I worked hard to install it and asked tech support for help also.
There is no way that I know of to make it work.
The good news is Visual Communicator 3 works well with Vista 32 bit and 64 bit. The upgrade is $149. I am happy I upgraded. -

(Chad_Garber) Feb 25, 2008 1:55 PM (in response to RoboWizard)None of the adobe trials are working for me. They all say that the trial version has run into problems forcing me to select 'buy now'. I have called Adobe numerous times on this issue but noone has helped. I starting to serioulsy think that Adobe is doing this on purpose so people will just buy the software.
