    Lost identity again

    shooternz Level 6

Logged on to new Forum format with previous working password and Username and the system has changed my Forum name.

I think it has reverted it to one that worked during the last "troubles" we had with the forum when they tried to change it.

No big deal except I prefer to post under my real name (as it was previously).

How do I change or fix this?   (No option in my Profile to change it)

Go up to "Your Account" at the very top of any forum page. From there, you can change your username. Since the forums are now tied to your Adobe ID, synergy is maintained between them, at least insofar as your username is concerned.

Check the name in your profile under the "your stuff" link as well. You can use the other name in there if you choose.

Thanx but I have tried that and it does not allow me to change my screen name to my previous/original/real  screen name because it is used by someone else.  That would be me!

This is like Deja vu . The problem was created last time the Forum was "improved" for a "better experience".

It reverted back correctly to my Screen name once they abandoned the idea.

From now i guess I am to be known as "shooternz"   (aka Craig Howard)

                Craig,

I'm in the exact same boat, as you. I have also attempted to change back to Bill Hunt, but can only "show" my name, which is listed as First Name: BILL HUNT and Last Name: [my Adobe ID #]. When I went to my account on Adobe.com, I also saw that they had lost all of my registrations, both all of years of Adobe, plus all of my MacroMedia. Did see the notation that MacroMedia would one day be rolled in, but my registrations are all gone!

I guess, when I have a few hours, I'll contact Adobe once more, and try to consolidate my accounts. Back when I started registering Adobe products, the Internet did not exist. About the time that they went to on-line registration, the database would not let me use my old account, and with each product, I had to create a new account. Once, we got everything rolled into one account (luckily, everything was registered to my business, so it wasn't that big a deal - address, e-dress and phone numbers had changed), but it got done. Now it's undone.

                Take care Shooternz,

                Hunt aka The_Wine_Snob!

Now, if I can just get Adobe to accept my "custom avitar." It's been "pending" for about four hours now. Guess they want to keep the level of porn, or something, down.

When these first lit up, my first post had what they are calling screen name in it (dorothyk@adobe) that I see at the top of the screen. I didn't want that so I changed it to use my first&last name as I registered it, which is what shows up in posts now. If you have Craig Howard in the first&last name fields, you can tell it to use that.

Thanx Dorothy. I will take another look at it later in the day.

(The forum seems a bit laggy so I will wait for it to accelerate.)
