Anybody out there have any suggestions?
Can you create a bare-bones demonstration of the problem that you are having, and post it on-line? By bare-bones, I mean something like:
- A single text member
- A hyperlink within the member
- A single text sprite displaying the member
- The minimum number of scripts and behaviors required to make the demo work
If you can isolate the issue in this way, it may help you determine exactly what is causing the issue. If not, it will mean that other developers who download your demonstration will get a good signal-to-noise ratio and will find it easier to suggest solutions.
Thank you so much for your speedy reply.
I have been messing around with the "bare" basics and still the problem persists.
I added a movie with just a little bit of text (as an attachment). If you click the hyperlinks a couple of times the problem is bound to occur.
Hope this is helpful.
PS For some reason I cannot attach the file... mmm .. not sure why? I have zipped it as well... and I get this error message.
But I did what you said and created a simple hyperlink text but the problem persists.
Any idea why?
Here is a list of acceptable file types:
Max Size: 5.0 MB
File types allowed: .pdf, .ai, .eps, .ps, .bmp, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .jpe, .tiff, .tif, .png, .html, .htm, .asc, .txt, .text, .rtx, .xml, .xsl, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpe, .qt, .mov, .swf
No .dir. Perhaps you could change the extension to (say) .txt and upload it, and warn visitors that they need to set the extension back to .dir before playing the movie.
Thank you James I will do as you say.
I am attaching a *.dir file but renamed it *.txt in order to upload it i.e. please change the extension to *.dir to view my problem.
The first attachment (test) is a small movie with all the scripts I have in the original movie. The second movie (text error) is just plain text with a hyperlink. In both cases the problem still exists. A friend of mine suggested that I change the blend 100% to Transparent 100%. He said that it worked on his machine. So I tried that but alas no success??
Can anybody out there give any helpful hints?
PS thank you James for all you help.
Hey James here is something wierd that I noticed...
I enter the hyperlink text on the stage... (check that works) ...
I enter the url under the text inspector, in the hypertext Data field ... (Check that works) ...
BUT when I press enter the text in the Hypertext Data field disappears?? Wow?? Why?
Something I observed... might help?
Hey James I just loaded Director 11.5 and guess what? The problem has gone.... eeeek. The only problem is that I do not think I am going to get my licence in time....grrrrr.
So I could still use your help if you have any advice.
I've only got 11.5 installed, so I'm afraid that I can't reproduce your issue. Here's a movie which illustrates the use of hyperlinks for executing Lingo:
It includes a Hyperlink Styles behavior which lets you determine how links appear.
Hey James how did you get that right??? Heeee.. It was only launched on Thursday??? That is cheating ... heeee. I had a little help form Adobe themselves and apparently it was a but in DIrector 11. Director 11.5 has solved all my problems. Thank you... I really mean thank you for all your help.
Hello james. In this solution is there a way of, instead of going to the next marker, opening a MIAW or an image cast member in another window?
Please start a new thread, esp. because you have a separate issue/question. Thanks.
