1. Re: Timeline doubles up and magnifys when a clip is moved
Eddie Lotter Apr 6, 2009 6:49 AM (in response to terryd1)I have never seen someone post anything remotely like this before. If CS4 is doing the same thing then I have no clue what could be causing it.
Try these troubleshooting tips.

Eddie Lotter Apr 6, 2009 9:11 AM (in response to terryd1)I'm sorry, I didn't make a connection between "ghosting" and "doubles up and magnifies". Very strange behaviour indeed.
Either try the troubleshooting steps I linked to previously or use Windows XP x86.
Cheers

4. Re: Timeline doubles up and magnifys when a clip is moved
Bill Hunt Apr 6, 2009 10:00 AM (in response to Eddie Lotter)This sounds display related. I wonder if Window Blinds is the culprit? Older versions of it seem to cause all sorts of display issues, and inactive buttons on dialog screens. Jeff Bellune has commented on what the new version is, and possibly linked to MS site to download the latest. That cleared up a lot of display issues for others.
Should that not be worthwhile, I'd look into the display drivers, first trying the latest, but possibly rolling back to an earlier version, should the newer not work.
Good luck,
Hunt

terryd1 Apr 7, 2009 4:51 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Hi! I haven't got windows blinds installed. But I uninstalled the video driver for my Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS a supposed fully supported video card and when I rebooted into a default rubbish resolution and loaded Premiere CS3 it worked OK! I did read on Internet that there has been a problem with the 8800 GTS with the new After Effects interface but I don't know. Terry

terryd1 Apr 8, 2009 6:03 AM (in response to terryd1)Ok! After extensive research I've found that if I drop the colours to 16 bit there is no distortion when moving clips on the timeline only thing is that when you move or play the movie, red lines are drawn on the timeline by the indicator.

terryd1 Apr 11, 2009 5:55 AM (in response to terryd1)I've been on to Nvidia and they've had me basically trying different old drivers to no avail and are now pointing me in the direction of the chip-makers of their cards so they have wash their hands of me so looks like I'll be buying a new videocard possiblly ATI.

11. Re: Timeline doubles up and magnifys when a clip is moved
terryd1 Apr 11, 2009 7:53 AM (in response to Eddie Lotter)I think I may have solved it Eddie! I've been messing about with the Premiere Pro Properties (arrived at by right-clicking on the Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 shortcut on the desktop and selecting Properties for those of you who might not know) and changing all types of display settings but I didn't go far enough, I've just ticked the box down the bottom marked "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and everything seems to be working now, even the picture on the TV (second display) fits correctly instead of being zoomed in.
Thanks for your support lads!
