I need to know how to do the following in PDF Pro 9
I have an order from with several items on it. Example
Product Cost Ordered
Red Socks 2.00
White Shirt 4.00
Blue Shorts 3.00
Total
I need to be able to total the order when a user enters in the quantity.
I can not figure out how make a field have a pre existing value such as (cost) and multiply cost by the qty that is entered. So if the client ordered 1 Red Sock and 1 Blue Shorts the total would be $5.00.
So How do I make this happen
I'm not familiar with version 9, so I don't know if they have added any functionality to make this easier or not. In version 8:
If your field names are "qty.1", "qty.2", "qty.3"...etc and "cost.1", "cost.2", "cost.3"... etc. (note the position and usage of the 'dot' in each field name) then you can create a line total field for each line and set that to calculate the product of "qty.1" and "cost.1". Name this field something like "lineTotal.1". Do that for each line.
Then, you can create a total field to sum "lineTotal" and this will include all fields that are named "lineTotal.X"
I was hoping that there could be a possible easier solution as I have several order forms with multipul items on each form. Is there any java that will make it easier. If not then I got my work cut out for me.
Thank
Is there any java that will make it easier.
Acrobat doesn't use Java.
