This kind of effect is nothing more than planning and setting keyframes. Each text element is a separate group so there's a bunch of layers. The anchor point is moved to the point where you want to have the center of rotation, The layer is positioned then animated, then another layer added. It's just setting keyframes in time with the audio and a bunch of planning. I'd sketch out a story board on paper then start building layers.
The example you put up had the text as 3D layers. If I were doing the animation I'd probably move the layers rather than the camera.
