    Creating visualizations?

      Hi,

I'm asking on a friend's behalf; what's the best method of making visualizations (like in Windows Media Player)? Is Flash the best way to go? Or is there other software better suited for this purpose?

      Any help/advice is much appreciated.

          Hi,

I'm not a sound expert, but I know that there is an easy way to get to the sound wave, here:

          SoundMixer.computeSpectrum

It returns sound wave in a Byte Array so it's very easy to read. The rest would be the usage of standard Flash tools and ActionScript. I think so at least, so it seems not really complicated.
