We outsourced some video taping work and recieved a DVD as a final product for me to edit down. Most times I can copy the VOB file off the DVD, rename it as an MPG, and it works good. HOWEVER....this time when I try to import the newly created MPG into PP, it crashes on me every time.
So here are my questions:
1. Can I use my computer dvd player to play the dvd and have PP capture it?
2. If so, How can I do this?
Look around the net for a free download of DVD Shrink and use that to rip the DVD to your desktop. Premiere won't edit mpg material btw. Many of us use the mpg version of VirtualDub to convert the mpg to an AVI first.
