Ok, so now a click needs to instantiate a FileReference.download() when using flash 10. OnClick I currently send jpeg data to a remote object to write it to the server. I have to wait for that operation to complete. Once complete I call fileref.download. This works in flash 9, not in 10. I have read the reasons and understand how it works. I do not want to make the user click one button to send the data to the server, then another to save it, because from their perspective they are only doing one action. Is this not an incredibly common situation that flex developers encounter? I thought saving data to the desktop was painful enough in flash 9, now it's becoming incredibly irritating.
I can use filereference.save() if I force users to use flash 10.
