My camera model is: Sony HVR-Z1U.
Computer : Windows XP x64
Apparently I was just told that I can record HD on a normal SD mini-DV tape. So I did record HDV on the tape. When I connect it to the computer, the computer does not recognize my camera (usually a window pops up). Nor can I capture the video. I looked around into forums, etc, and I found out that HD drivers come with SP-2 for Windows XP x64. I did install the service pack but still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome to the forums.
CS3 is not supported on XP x64, so if you're experiencing problems you may end up having to switch to XP x86.
You can try to right-click on the Premiere Pro shortcut and choose a different compatibility mode.
See also this page for help with capture problems.
Thank you for the fast reply.
I've never had problem with DV/ DV cam footage. It works perfectly fine. I've been using this computer with x64 for about 6 months. I haven't had any problems. I have Nero, which allows me to capture videos without premiere. Nero isn't working either. I can control the camera from the pc (play, rewind, etc) but nothing shows up on screen. I'm trying HDV footage for the first time.
