One letter to look like a block

    Tim Mo

I am trying to rotate a letter, and when it turns, I want it to look like a block.  I've tried to figure out how to do this, and frankly thought it would be a preset... maybe it is and I'm missing it.  No problem on the rotation... I just don't want it to look flat when it turns.

      Thanks for any help!

          Hey Tim Mo.

Are you trying to give the appearance of 3D depth?

Or are you trying to alter the behavior of the rotation?

If you're looking to fake 3D depth, there are a few solutions. One using shatter, and another using expressions.

Or, you could look into third-party solutions, like, zaxwerks, or a full-fledged 3D application.

http://www.hottek.net/samples/shatter_example.pngI think you want to create extruded text. You can do this with Shatter. I've got a short video tutorial available here and a short description of the effect with a project file here.

There are a bunch of other solutions for this kind of an effect. For quick, easy, and done without any 3rd party plug-ins I think Shatter is one of the easiest solutions.
