I want to create a data base of company names and their addresses that a user can enter data into. Then be able to access this data base in various pdf forms, via a drop down menu selecting a particular company. Once selected, address information fields would then be populated.
Any suggestions on how to do this, I’m using adobe pro 6?
How familiar are you with JS and SQL?
You can do this by creating a DB (in Access, for example), then defining an ODBC connection for it to which you can connect in Acrobat with the ADBC and Connection objects. Once connected you execute SQL statements using the Statement object which will give you Row object, which in turn can be used to get the actual data from the DB and populate a form with it.
A bit complicated, but possible.
Hmmmmm .... terms I've never heard before. But with a little research, anything is possible.
