Pretty basic question, it seems like Air should be able to do this but I want to make 100% sure.
Can an Air application write a simple text file to the local drive outside of its sandbox , say to the user's desktop, without any user activity?
So if I wanted to store a simple text file outputting some test results to the user's desktop, without the user actually hitting a button and saving it himself, can Air do that?
If that isn't possible, can I write an external application (C# or C++) to read/write a text file inside the Air sandbox? I have been reading about the sandbox and I am pretty confused as to whether any of this is actually possible.
Yes, an AIR application can write files to any location where the current user has write privileges. User interaction is only required when the code is running outside the application sandbox.
