I just downloaded the latest Adobe 9.0 and it will not open files in emails or programs. It gives me a message that my side by side configuration is wrong and I should check my application file. Whatever that is.
The only way I can view email files is to save them to desktop and then open Adobe by using OPEN AS ADMINISTRATOR, then use open to open the files... but when I'm in a program like a genealogy program that wants to open something with Adobe I can't. Can someone tell me how I can fix this?
I don't run Vista - but I guess that your problem could be fixed through following the advices given here :
Basically : they tell people to download and install “Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package” or vcredist_x86 from microsoft download center and it will work just fine. Also you are supposed to turn of A.V. and other protection while installing the package.
I haven't tried any of this I just pass on the advice others have been given elsewhere....
Fiat Lux !
Please make sure that the version of the “Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package” or vcredist_x86 that you download and use is suitable for your specific O.S. !
