1. Re: EULA question... what do they mean by trade secrets? I don't want to break any rules.
David_Powers Apr 26, 2009 2:10 AM (in response to the_missing_link)Don't know which version of the EULA you're looking at, but the only reference to trade secrets in the CS3 and CS4 EULA is this:
The structure, organization and code of the Software are the valuable trade secrets and confidential information of Adobe Systems Incorporated and its suppliers
I'm not a lawyer, but in layman's terms that means: "create a clone of Dreamweaver, and our lawyers will have a field day." In other words, no reverse engineering.
There are no secrets in the HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, etc code generated by Dreamweaver. It's yours to use.

Stop that! Newbies are supposed to remain newbies for life. It is the only way we can feel ...
I mean, Stop that! No need to apologize for asking questions in here - especially when you've clearly indicated that you've done some due diligence before asking. You are using this forum exactly as it is supposed to be used.
Just keep at it, and at some point, you might be the one answering most of the questions. Thus giving the ACEs an opportunity for a vacation/holiday - assuming they know what that means.

the_missing_link Apr 26, 2009 4:14 PM (in response to Mark A. Boyd)Your funny Mark. I like that. It is always good to have some comedy relief even in the coding world. I am a bit of a clown in RL I just don't have a red nose... yet.

Mark A. Boyd Apr 26, 2009 6:02 PM (in response to the_missing_link)Just a few more years of regular pub visits and my nose should have quite a satisfactory hue.
Maybe we can start a forum for vacation newbies. It would need a FAQ, too.
- What is a vacation or holiday?
- How often should I take a vacation?
- How long should it be?
- How will my work get done while I'm gone?
- Should I hide my stapler before I leave?
- Do I need a computer?
- What is life like without a computer?
- IS there life without a computer?
etc...

the_missing_link Apr 26, 2009 8:23 PM (in response to Mark A. Boyd)Here is the answer to how will my work get done while I am gone?
Create a program that will do your work for you. This will only work if your work can be done by artifical intelligence. If you have enough money to spare you could hire someone to do your work or if you are the owner of a company make someone do your work. If your filthy rich you don't have much to worry about.

Dooza (Steve) Apr 27, 2009 9:16 AM (in response to Mark A. Boyd)Many years ago, back in the 90's, when I was first using NNTP (usenet newsgroups) we (regular posters) would take a vacation to another newsgroup. One of my favourite destinations was alt.sheds, it had some right characters
