My air app currently loads up another website in the browser, if the window which is displaying the external website is left open too long the app will take up too much memory but when closing the window containing the external websites page and calling air.System.gc() a couple of times the air app frees up a little memory but not all the memory that it was using for the window, so just closing the window does not free up all the memory taken.
Is there any other way of freeing up more memory?
Run the profiler to see why your app takes so much memory, and there you
could tweak your code to make it more efficient.
Thanks for replying, where do I get the profiler from?
I'm writing a html/js air app on Win XP
On a side note i can reduce the amount of Memory that the app is reported in using in Task Manager by making the air window minimize after the window containing the external website has been closed as was mentioned here http://forums.adobe.com/message/1032213
But the VM Size reported by Task Manager does not go down and continues to rise to extreme amounts after the app has been running for a few hours
My bad I forgot to ask you what technologies were you using in order to
develop the profiling. As far as I know only Flex/AIR apps can be profile.
