Hi there the whole Flex SDK is free, there are several builds but they're all free. The only thing that costs money is Flex Builder, but there's a 60
day trial and is free if you're an student or work for an educational institution.
Thank you very much for your reply. I was wondering what other good tools are out there beside Flex Builder. I heard there are a lot of tools and plugins for Eclipse but I do not know which are the better ones.
Glad I was able to help you. Tools for?
For Flex projects, I'd go with Flex Builder anytime ( ok, I'd go with it for any other kind of project too ) but you can take a look at these tool too ( some are limited to only ActionScript projects ):
People usually choose their tool "because they like how it looks" but that doesn't really matters. What matters is that the tool you choose should be able to help you out in at least 90% of the situations and support you in every phase of development ( by "support", I mean: it should offer "real features", stuff that you really need and not stuff that is only there for a marketing reason or to create the illusion of "a more professional product", especially to newbies ).
