ColdFusion MX 6.1 and Flex 3

    tietack

I am new to Flex and am trying to see if something is even possible.

Currently the company I am working for is using ColdFusion MX 6.1. There are plans for upgrading to ColdFusion 8.0. Once that takes place, I will have no issues. However, in the mean time, I am trying to find a solution.

I am proposing using Flex as a UI solution for an upcoming release for an application we are designing. I successfully made a presentation to convince the decision makers of this solution.

Now, I know I can build the Flex UI with the SDK. I can also have ColdFusion serve up the compiled SWF file. However, I am not able to find a way to allow the compiled Flex interface communicate with the ColdFusion server.

I have been doing a lot of googling and found reference to using Flash Remoting with CF 6.1 as well as installed Flex (1,0) for CF 6.1.

I have not seen, however, how to accomplish these. Is what I am searching for possible? Are there other products that would have to be purchased to enable this type of communication?

Any direction or help would be appreciated.

      Thanks,
