Could you please provide a screenshot or some source code? When you create your project, do you specify that it's an AIR project? What version of Flex Builder using? Are you working on a MAC or a PC?
With best regards,
have you imported flash.filesytem package into you air application and make sure selected Air as a project type when you create it.
add this import statement into your script if you havent added it allready.
My application is to read and populate the data in a Tree from an XML file.
How to specify the project is AIR?
I am using Adobe Flex Version 3.0 (build 188.8.131.52193)
I am working on PC.
I am unable to import that package itself.
when you create new project by going to file->new->Flex Project
in the popupWindow under Application Type section you must slect desktop Application (runs in adobe AIR) option to make your project compile for adobe air
My application is a web service based one. Can I still select that option.

yes you can still use web services in adobe air. Also keep in mind about adobe air sandbox security you may need to add crossdomain policy file on your server to access the web service if you are developing with html and ajax otherwise there will be no problem
Thanks a lot brother.
