I have captured video footage as a .mov file using Final Cut Pro, but when exporting as an .avi in Adobe Premiere Pro, a significant amount of image quality is lost. I've tried exporting as .mov as well, but no improvement here either. Any tips on how to prevent/improve this would be very appreciated. Thanks.
This may be stupid, but it's one of those little things that we sometimes forget. Make sure you're not deinterlacing unless you have a good reason to do so. I've found that this is the single most-forgotten thing on my encodes that makes a huge difference in quality.
