When the error occurs:
* Is your Flash sprite on the Stage?
* Has it received an #enterFrame event yet?
If the answer to either of these questions in No then the Flash sprite will not have been initialized, and no calls can be made to its functions.
I put flash sprite on stage.I call that function after flash fully loaded. This error comes randomly
Does this only happen while authoring? If so it sounds like the SWF may not be "visible". I've had the same problem, and it drove me bonkers. Finally I noticed that if a SWF is on the stage but the part of the stage that contains it is under a panel or something I get the "Handler not found in object" message. For instance let's say there's a Flash button component at the bottom of the stage. Let's also say that the cast and message panels are docked at the bottom of Director. If they are both expanded so that they cover the bottom of the stage, so covering the button, then to Director it's as if the button doesn't exist. Trying to do anything with that button, like setting callbacks or such, throws the error.
