It's late May now... any word?
You can count the days on your fingers.
Like one finger even
You sure didn't disappoint. I have been checking for the beta release everyday for a few months now...
... and today, IT WAS THERE!
Well done to Adobe for the great product and professionalism.
and also a big 'THANK YOU' to Ryan Stewart for his helpful updates.
Its ready to download now
Downloaded it :-)
Cloud not install the new beta ;-(
I think its because of the max (preview) version I had installed.
Any solutions ?
Certainly because of the previous FC version. You'll have to do a bit of housekeeping before installing the new beta. Here some tricks that might help:
On a MAC: The first thing to attempt is to use the Finder to go to the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Installers folder (this is the /Library folder under your boot volume, not your user folder). Once there you should see several folders with names that are just long numbers. Open each until you find one that has an Uninstall.app file with the or Adobe Flash Catalyst icon. Double click on that Uninstall.app and see if it will let you uninstall. If not try the Setup.app file in the same folder
On a PC: The first thing to attempt is to use Windows Explorer to go to \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers. Once there you should see several folders with names that are just long numbers. Open each until you find one that has a Setup.exe file with the Adobe Flash Catalyst icon. Double click on that Setup.exe and see if it will let you uninstall.
If all that doesn't work out, there are other ways, but I'd recommend a clean swipe of your system.
Hope that helped,
Thnx for the quick response but it didn't work (working on a mac)
Thats what you get installing beta's ;-)
Fresh install of mac osx “ieks” bit to much work
I am going to install it on a vwware windows os / mac osx server thats is always a better option
Did you get Alex¹s message about uninstalling? If that doesn¹t work it may
be because you don¹t have an intel based system - like I just found out
Nope thats not the problem.
Got a Intel based on.
I am going to tyry this option
If you’re having trouble uninstalling the MAX preview and installing the public beta, give these steps a try:
* Uninstall Catalyst
* Download the Mac version of the Repair tool from this page: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/licensing.html
* Run the Repair tool with the default options.
* After the Repair is complete, re-install Catalyst and enter the SN when prompted by the installer.
I found it on
i am having trouble in downloading flash catalyst for mac osx. I stopped trying after trying 4 to 5 times. this seems strange as i finshed downloading flash builder4 beta more smoothly.
Is it true for other users?
would be gr8 if some workaround to this is offered.
If you don¹t have an intel based mac it won¹t work
I had some problems in downloading the trial version but I managed to
download it from windows machine.Yet got to test it. btw it works well in
Thanks for the info.
