You "may" experience problems such as Reader opening when you try and use Acrobat or the other way around. Also, uninstalling one may damage the other.
But, there are many that DO run both without issue so, your results may vary.

If you have difficulties to run Acrobat and Adobe Reader on the same computer, uninstall Adobe Reader, then install it under Windows Virtual PC.
