3. Re: aspect ratio of file not supported by DVD. - PGC info HELP!!
Mango45 Jul 3, 2009 9:09 PM (in response to lou4uandme)I just solved this so I thought I'd post what I did in case it helps anyone. This solution falls under the category of "simple but strange".
I have been using SUPER with MEncoder to render MPG files because I get the PCG/Internal Software Error on build if I render with Encore. This solved the Internal Software Error but caused the aspect ratio problem.
I discovered that I could use any aspect ratio except the correct one. So I configured SUPER to render the MPG with a 4:3 ratio instead of 16:9. I then used the Interpret Footage option...and I was able to correctly set the aspect ratio to 16:9 and build my project.
I have been trying to build this DVD for two days now - this was the easiest of all of Encore's quirks to figure out. With stupid bugs like these I'm amazed that Adobe is still in business.

Bill Hunt Jul 4, 2009 9:58 AM (in response to Mango45)Thanks for taking the time to report. Yes, I'd agree on "simple but strange."
I know that Super has some aspect ratio issues, and these seem to manifest themselves differently between PAL and NTSC. Cannot remember what those issues were, or any workarounds, as I do not use that program. It seems that you solved them.
As for Bugs in En, maybe I've just been lucky, as I have never experienced any. Will admit that I'm still on En 2.0, so maybe later versions differ.
Good luck,
Hunt

5. Re: aspect ratio of file not supported by DVD. - PGC info HELP!!
timtro Jan 9, 2011 6:20 PM (in response to lou4uandme)OK, try this one - I went back to make a new DVD from an existing En file, but now I can't get past the "aspect ratio" error - time 2925.4559.s - So what does THAT mean? There's nothing at 29;25, there's nothing at 2925. So where do I need to look for this new ghost problem? Why can't it be consistant and give it to me in timecode?

Jeff Bellune Jan 9, 2011 6:52 PM (in response to timtro)Check that you didn't inadvertently leave a gap at the beginning of your En timeline.

7. Re: aspect ratio of file not supported by DVD. - PGC info HELP!!
timtro Jan 10, 2011 6:50 AM (in response to Jeff Bellune)Thanks for the suggestion but that wasn't it. Any idea where 2925.4559.s might be?
It seems to be related to the menu. If the menu doesn't work and runs straight through like a "play all", there is no error and it makes a DVD.. a useless DVD, but it makes one. As soon as it actually works in preview like it should, it won't make a DVD. The 2925 doesn't line up with anything - no scene change, no segment end, no titles.
