1. Re: Painting a straight line on an angle using the brush tool
Ramón G Castañeda May 7, 2009 4:44 PM (in response to VFX MAGIC)Paint the starting point of your line with a single click and let go of the mouse button. Then move your cursor to where you want the end of the line to be and Shift+Click there. Done.

mec_os May 7, 2009 5:17 PM (in response to Ramón G Castañeda)lol, i never knew that
but is there a way to actually paint it like the OP asks? i use a tablet and i would like to control thickness, opacity etc along the way.
EDIT: i guess i could rotate my canvas so my desired angle is either vertical or horizontal

I've seen skilled artists do it with a firm hand, even on a real canvas with real paint.
But I suppose you could position a ruler an inch or so above your tablet and use it to guide your stylus.

I can assure you that your skills or lack of them are absolutely no concern of mine whatsoever.
All I was doing was returning what I interpreted to be your good-humored facetiousness.
You mean you were serious?

Joe@Pocketpiglets.com May 7, 2009 6:03 PM (in response to Ramón G Castañeda)Oh geez.
Geez.
I don't even wanna say what I've done to draw straight lines at an angle, lol.
I've been doing just that in GIMP, and it shows you a line while you hold shift, and never once did occur to me to just try that in PS.

about my skills or the ruler? i have used a ruler, and my skills are questionable. still, being able to set constrain angles would be an awesome feature. i don't see why illustrator doesn't have it either.

10. Re: Painting a straight line on an angle using the brush tool
Ramón G Castañeda May 7, 2009 6:42 PM (in response to mec_os)Yes, that would make a good feature request for both programs, if you really need it.
