    Duplicate Layer with a mask

    beast01

Whenever a masked layer is duplicated it is way more handy ( and logical ) to let the mask selected , not the layer . It's very annoying to be obliged to reselect every time the mask . It's so awkward that I still very often find myself drawing on the layer instead of the mask .

I agree with the suggested logic and support this feature request.

If I understand you correctly, this is how to reproduce this irritating logic:

          1. Create a new layer.
          2. Add a layer mask to that layer (the layer mask is now selected for you).
          3. Duplicate the layer (the duplicated layer is now selected for you, instead of its layer mask).

The duplicate should follow the active selection on the original , not switch to the layer mandatorily

If the layer is active on the original - the duplicate should have the layer active

If it's the mask that is active on the original - the duplicate should have it's mask active

That was in case I haven't been clear
