    Apache Browser

    dbshelp
I have two browsers in my File>>Preview in Browser menu---Firefox 3.0 and IE 7.0. I would like to add the Apache browser to the list but am stumped about how to do it. I have WAMP installed on my PC and it works fine if I transfer the site to the /wamp/www directory and type http://localhost/dirname into the address window. I would like to avoid this extra step and use the built-in wizard in Dreamweaver 8 to establish Apache as a local host.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You can't. Apache is not a browser, but a web server.

That's the correct way to do it.

Have you set up the "TESTING SERVER" section of this dreamweaver site
            definition?

Yes, I attempted unsuccessfully to set up the testing server but am unsure of the parameters to use on the input form. I selected the "Advanced Tab" at the top of the form and the "Testing Server" under category. I am using the same site name as I selected for the setup of my site. I think the problem may lay with my choice of the "Local Root Folder?" This could be what I am doing wriong or it may be with the other necessary inputs?

                Testing server folder: C:\wamp\www\dirname
                URL prefix: http://localhost/dirname/
