The Flex framework does not include an AutoComplete component. Where did you get the one you are using?
From your example, I can see that there do seem to be some oddities in the drop down display, but I can't compare it to how well it works in Flash Player 9 (I only have 10).
As a bit of self promotion, the Flextras AutoCompleteComboBox ( http://www.flextras.com/?event=ProductHome&productID=10 ) should work fine with Flash Player 10. If you want an AutoCompleteTextInput like you have in your example, you can make the drop down arrow invisible ( http://www.flextras.com/AutoCompleteComboBox/docs/asdocs/com/flextras/autoCompleteComboBox /AutoCompleteComboBox.html#downArrowVisible )
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.
Thanks for your reply Jeff,
Actually I am using the version from the following site http://renaun.com/blog/2006/09/28/107/. I am attaching a version that have been compiled for 9.0.124 and you will notice that on entering a number and then pressing ENTER, the first item in the list gets selected as expected. Where as in the previous file, that was not working.I would like to use this as its free and simple...
AutoCompleteCountriesData.swf 447.1 K
I can't replicate the functionality you describe. Nothing is selected if I type a number and click enter.
I'll admit the other version you posted had some drop down oddities that are not present in this one; but I'm not sure why, and without viewing source code I couldn't even begin to guess.
We spent a lot of time dealing with drop down display issues in the Flextras AutoCompleteComboBox.
