MX - can't post htm file to ISP server

    K_Necelis
I have been back and forth with my ISP on issues I am having with uploading html files to their server. They claim the issue is on my end - any ideas why image files are uploading to the server and not the htm files?

      Thank you!

What happens when you try to upload an *.htm file?

Nothing happens, no error message back or anything. It looks like it got uploaded but when I go to the browser and bring the page up it's not there.

Please tell us what the contents are of each field in your Remote site
definition (you can omit the password). I'm guessing that you are just
uploading the file to the wrong location.

Also, can you include the FTP log portion that describes an image and an
HTML file upload in your post, please?

                Access: FTP
                FTP Host: ftp.ptd.net
                Host Directory: www.serenitywellnesscenter.org/

                No check boxes are checked.

I'm not sure what you are looking for in your second request as far as the ftp log goes..

Just for grins, try this -

                  FTP Host: www.serenitywellnesscenter.org
                  Host Directory: leave it blank

Can you connect? If so, please tell us what FOLDER names you see listed in
                  the Remote files list.

                  > I'm not sure what you are looking for in your second request as far as the

                  > log goes..

You can open the FTP log in DW with SITE | Advanced > FTP Log. Copy and
paste the results of an attempt to upload both an image and a HTML file.

The folders that appear on the ISP Server are: http://www.serenitywellnesscenter.org
Below that is an images folder.

                    Here is the ftp log:

Did this happen after making the change I suggested to your Remote FTP Host
                      and Host Directory fields?

Sure it will - just erase the contents from the Host Directory field.

Or - what do you mean it wouldn't let you leave it blank?

I did delete it but it gave me a messsage that the field couldn't be left blank before I could leave the site manager dialogue box..

Yeah, it would be very odd to have that for your host directory. Typically it is either blank, or sometimes public_html or similar. I've never seen an ISP or web host that needs your login to specify the domain.

Then you are trying to blank the FTP Host field not the Host directory
                                field.

No idea. I'm just trying to get these files to load onto the server. I'm about to give up and switch ISPs if I don't have an answer for this soon.

No. I want you to make the following changes to the REMOTE SITE DEFINITION
                                          in Dreamweaver -

                                          1. Change the FTP Host field from ftp.ptd.net to
                                          www.serenitywellnesscenter.org
                                          2. Change the Host Directory field from www.serenitywellnesscenter.org/ to
                                          <nothing> - i.e., blank it out

Click "Test" - does the test succeed? If it does, connect to the site, and
tell me what FOLDER names you see on the Remote site files list.
